Why Hyalase
Hyalase or Hyularonidase is an enzyme (compounded by special pharmacies) that causes the breakdown of hyaluronic acid. It is often referred to as a reversal agent for hyaluronic acid-based fillers. When the enzyme is injected, it dissolves the synthetic hyaluronic acid filler.

The Benefits
Used for the elective dissolving of hyaluronic acid fillers.
The Concerns
Occasionally dermal fillers need to be dissolved when the treatment outcome is unacceptable, when an adverse reaction to the filler has occurred, or there is a possibility of vascular occlusion and/or impending necrosis (tissue death) which could lead to the compromise of healthy tissue.
The Results
Any over correction resulting from the loss of your own hyaluronic acid will usually be temporary and is expected to recover within a few days. The breakdown of the dermal filler will be permanent.
Downtime
Minimal downtime.
Hyalase FAQ
What is Hyalase used for?
Hyalase is an injectable enzyme used to dissolve unwanted or overdone dermal fillers, offering a solution for filler complications or unsatisfactory results.
How quickly does Hyalase work?
Results can be seen within 24-48 hours, though it may take a few days for the full effects as the filler breaks down and the swelling goes down.
Is the treatment painful?
Most patients experience discomfort, although a numbing agent is applied before the procedure to reduce pain.
Are there any side effects?
Swelling, bruising, or redness may occur and will generally subside within a few days. Hyalase can break down your own collagen as well as the filler, so this treatment is not recommended unless you have had a full consultation.
